The Story:

The narrative is set in Antakya in 1934. Antakya was occupied by the French at this time.
Murat Yildirim plays Aziz Payidar, a young guy from an affluent Payidar family. His family runs Antakya’s only and largest carpet shop.
Aziz is a promising carpet salesman who is powerful, charismatic, and stubborn. In their carpet shop, he cheerfully collaborates with his father and uncle.
Despite the fact that many locals suffer from poverty and tyranny as a result of the French rule, Aziz lives a pleasant life. He wishes to marry Dilruba (Damla Sonmez), with whom he has been in love since he was ten years old. Aziz’s life, however, is turned upside down in a single day.

While attempting to shield an innocent little girl from Aziz’s attack, he murders a French officer. He has no choice but to abandon everything and flee Antakya in the wake of this catastrophe. He knows that if he continues there, he will be slain by French soldiers.

Aziz flees without looking back for two years, never returning to his village. Everyone believes he is no longer alive. He does, however, return to his hometown unexpectedly.

After two years in exile, Aziz returns to Antakya to find that everything has changed radically. He discovers that his father has died, that his house has become vacant owing to massive debt, and that all of his possessions have been auctioned. He cannot accept, however, that his father committed suicide due to debt.

Aziz also discovers that Dilruba, his sweetheart, is engaged to his nephew Adem (Guven Murat Akpinar) and will be married shortly. He believes that his loved ones have betrayed him. Aziz still adores Dilruba and is baffled as to why she choose to marry another guy after promising to wait for him till death.

In the meantime, Aziz’s uncle Galip Payidar (Ahmet Mumtaz Taylan) has grown richer and more powerful. He runs Antakya’s only and largest carpet store, and he wants to enhance his profits by working with French soldiers. Using his monopolistic strength, Galip Payidar even lowers the salary rate of carper weavers.

Many individuals in Antakya will be affected by Aziz’s homecoming. Dilruba begins to have doubts about her forthcoming marriage. Galip Payidar makes every effort to retain his position of power. Locals begin to believe that Aziz will be their last hope in the face of French takeover.

After losing everything in life, Aziz tells the storey of a young man who grows up to be a powerful man battling against brutality and injustice. Will Dilruba be forgiven by Aziz? Is Aziz going to find out the truth about his father’s death? Will Galip Payidar’s ruthlessness continue? Will Aziz work with French soldiers or fight back against their occupation?
